My Sisters Place are delighted to have won the first Impact award for ‘New approach, better outcomes’ at the South Tees VCS Awards on the 25th February 2016.
The award was presented to our Service Development Manager and one of our Independent Domestic Violence Advocates by Michael Janes from the Teesside Branch of the Federation for Small Business. The Impact category recognises the responses of voluntary and community organisations across South Tees in responding to community needs and developing new approaches to make a difference and impact the lives of local people despite increasing demanding of services and decreasing resources.
The award is in recognition of our work with high risk victims of domestic abuse which piloted a new approach to supporting women and children. The lessons learned from this work has been shared nationally and we are proud to see this influencing the way in which victims of domestic abuse are supported in the future.
We would like to say a huge thank you for this award, it was great to see so many local voluntary and community organisations receiving recognition from the sector and sharing in each others successes. This was an inspiring event with so many deserving nominees.
